Eyes On America πŸ‘€β€οΈ

Isn’t it something that as soon as the United States begins to “slowly” open our economy, evil jumps out of the shadows.

What began as a peaceful protest is no longer that! Setting businesses on fire, looting and violence is no longer a peaceful protest. Hate can not drive out hate and it never will.

The news media coverage has fueled the fires. They seem to have forgotten about the Covid-19 pandemic as they run towards sensationalism.

As the Military rolled toward the White House to protect our Country and President, the media and evil entities behaved shocked. It is as if the media wants to see our Country burn down! No, love will always win over hate. The United States of America is just beginning to rise from the ashes.

Evil is short-lived and with love we will always rise above. If the Governor’s can not end the riots, they need to step back and allow the President to do his job (putting out all these ugly fires).

World, keep your eyes on the “United” States of America! We will get through this and come out better than we ever was before! Love always wins!β€οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

Learned Lessons #learning #pray #prayerwarrior

Me and my sister 1989

Ok, this blog post is not going to be everyone’s cup of sweet tea. For the prayer warriors or just the passionately curious folks, I hope it fills your spiritual arsenal with heavenly hope.

For those that don’t know, my sister has been appointed the family grocery shopper. Once a week she shops for two households. She is our family essential worker and we are so thankful for her! So, last week she picks up my list with money and we joked about the Hunger Games as she left.

Well, about forty minutes later I’m in my kitchen doing dishes when this foreboding feeling came over me. The urgency to pray hit me hard. I kept thinking, Lord Jesus who and what am I suppose to pray for? Everything was fine in my immediate environment and I kept questioning God, what am I to pray for? Then, my eyes seen two books I had just finished reading earlier in the week (Deliverance and Spiritual Warfare Manual & Demon Hit List, both by; John Eckhardt). So, I pick up Demon Hit List and randomly open it. My focus instantly falls upon the heading name, Resentment. The urgency to pray was intense. I just dropped to my knees in the kitchen and asked the Holy Spirit to lead me. I prayed in the Spirit for about fifteen minutes until I felt a lightness and the urgency to pray left. As I’m getting off my knees my phone rings and it was my Sister.

My Sister was sitting in her vehicle at a store parking lot very upset. Seems that as she was checking out with her mask on, the cashier with no mask sneezed in her hand. My sister instantly said, I don’t want a receipt. The cashier laughed and said, “Oh, that was just allergies!” Then, hatefully, the cashier shoves the receipt into the bag(which was actually my bag😲). This is the point when the customer behind my sister with no mask decides to start laughing. Words were exchanged and my sister leaves visibly upset. The customer follows her out and keeps the verbal exchange going. My sister invited her to take it to a physical level and after several more verbal exchanges the other customer left. Wow! That could have ended so different. I know beyond the shadow of any doubt that prayer works!

Lessons Learned:

My Sister; My sister is finishing up college and near the end. A physical altercation with that other woman could have taking away all her hard work and completion of future goals. “Just walk away from drama!”

Me; When I feel the urgency to pray, I’m immediately praying! I don’t need to know all the what’s, who’s and why’s at all times. πŸ’žπŸ™

Emerging Forward #covid19 #forward #thoughts

I had to leave my home today to take care of rent. I didn’t go into any buildings. The bank now is only drive throu. So, I got my money order through the bank and dropped it in the rental manager’s box. Rode through Fairborn, Ohio and over through Beaver Creek, Ohio. Me and my son did not leave the vehicle. I was most amazed at all of the traffic! It is very obvious that many are not following the Stay at Home order. The President is 100% correct, there is going to be some painful weeks ahead.

It is true tough times don’t last, tough people do though. Tough people are smart, have a clear sense of integrity and know how to thoughtfully emerge forward.

Needless to say, it has seemed like Black Friday shopping! Thankfully, me and Caleb have what we need now. Stores finally started putting up limit signs.

Please don’t treat this as a hoax! Get what you need and plan to stay home. Those out and about not following precautions (social distancing) are going to overwhelm our medical system. Be kind and think of others. πŸ™‚

*Wear a mask in crowded areas.

*Wash your hands

*Practice social distancing (your feet 3 ft+ from others)

We will all get through this together. If you live in the United States plan on two waves of checks to be sent out. These are suppose to be based on family size and income:

I know it is tempting to stay on top of the news now 24/7. Please take time for a relaxing news break for your mental health and well-being β™₯️.

*Watch a comedy

*Focus on a hobby

*Introduce your family to a board game

*Skype with friends and family

*Read a book

Relax, don’t stress! (stress weakens the immune system!)

I Disappear #break #creativity #media

Disappear: Cease to be visible. Oxford dictionary

Yes, sometimes I just disappear. Which means I’m busy taking a social media break. I don’t forewarn because I don’t need permission to step away for me. When, I take these breaks I have discovered that I reappear with fresh creative ideas. Personally, when I’m absent I feel very present with myself.

You may think you have no time for a break but you do. There is 24 hours in a day and you can carve out at least 30 minutes of “me” time. Maybe you’ll have to revise your schedule, say no to somethings and yes to time for you.

Abstinence – is a self-enforced restraint from indulging in bodily activities that are widely experienced as given pleasure. -Wikipedia

I believe in 2020 taking a social media break would fit into the definition of abstinence. Abstinence is the opposite of indulgence. We all know someone that seems to have a unhealthy addiction in this area. I would suggest baby steps: 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes toward a freedom break. πŸ™‚

You can do it!

Some benefits of a social media break that I’ve discovered:

1. Improves your mood

2. Boosts your creativity

3. Time for reading a book

4. Creates time for a walk

5. Can start a family project

6. Work on a exercise routine

7. Discover a new hobby

8. Work in your journal

9. Rock painting, gardening, etc.,

*Personal time with God*

Yes it does! πŸ™‚

Go ahead! Disappear via a social media break. I promise your not going to miss anything and you’ll reappear even more amazing! ❀️

The American Dream #America #cancer #health

Beating the Odds

The American Dream: The ideal by which equality of opportunity is available to any American. Allowing the highest aspirations and goals to be achieved. -Oxford dictionary

Update on my Mom’s cancer diagnosis: She beat the odds! In January she got to ring the bell after her last treatment and they gave her a certificate of completion. Her treatment plan was: Mondays mild chemo and Monday-Friday radiation. She will have to have check ups for the rest of her life. For now, all visible signs of the tumor that was the size of two of the Doctor’s fists has disappeared. A true miracle and blessing!

She has spent the last few weeks getting her strength back and fighting the feeling of nausea. Each day she feels physically better.

Now, that she has beat cancer the medical bills are arriving. One turned into collections while she was waiting to hear back from Veteran Services and reaching out to other agencies for help.

I believe this month is her 22nd or 23rd year with the same employer. In August she will be “70” and sees no way to retire because of the accumulation of medical bills.

(The Economist)

It is as if she got punished for having cancer. As a cancer survivor she has to reexamine her finances in all areas. Any retirement savings is used for mortgage, utilities and medical expenses. All of which is happening while your not able to work.

Yeah, maybe your reading this thinking this doesn’t affect me. One day it will. Before you know it, if your not already a senior citizen; you will eventually have that label. By the way, Social Security just shaved $30-$40 off in January and she has no idea why.

Personally, I’m a optimist. Our healthcare system and the way we treat any citizen that reaches out for resources has to change. A medical emergency or medical diagnosis shouldn’t lead to bankruptcy! I pray for my country daily πŸ™. I’m very hopeful that I will get to see positive change in my lifetime πŸ™‚

I will always believe in miracles & have hope!

A Visit to Appalachia #appalachia #appalachian #culture

On Monday, my Mom, me and Caleb visited our hometown area. I grew up in S.E. Ohio on the Ohio river. This area of Ohio borders West Virginia and Kentucky. My hometown Ironton, Ohio is part of the Appalachian region. I currently, live in Fairborn, Ohio on the outskirts of Dayton, Ohio. Hard to imagine the cultural difference less than 200 miles from my current address.

Ohio River

Caleb got to visit with his neurologist in Huntington, West Virginia. Then, we crossed back over the river into Chesapeake, Ohio. We drove through the back roads of Chesapeake checking out the By Pass status that will come through in the near future. Me and my boys lived in the hills of Chesapeake, Ohio for 11 years and 5 months at the same address. I’m a gun owner now but at the Chesapeake address I never owned a gun. Many times I left windows open and very seldom did I lock my door (truth).

Well, Caleb was happy because he knew we would not leave the area without purchasing a Italian sub from Giovannis :-). We stopped at the Ironton location and ordered us all an Italian sub. They literally brought it out to our car before I had a chance to go in to get it. So friendly and such a hometown feeling every place we went. We took our subs down to the Ironton river bank and relaxed.

By the way, my hometown hosts the oldest running Memorial Day parade in the United States.

So nice to spend the day with my Mom. Wonderful to spend a day away from city life :-). Every place we went, we were greeted by friendly waves…such a good feeling! Here in the city if you just wave at someone just to be friendly, they look at you like; “Do I know you!?”

Enjoy your day today! When you get the chance to to leave city life behind (even for a day), do it! πŸ™‚

Healthy Choices #apples #oranges #tomatoes

Now that December Holiday eating has passed me and Caleb are filling our fruit basket. Time to get back on track with healthy eating. Those of you that continued to eat healthy through out December…you amaze me πŸ™‚

This week we have focused on apples, oranges and tomatoes. It is just me and him so I buy a bit at a time so none goes to waste. We haven’t forgotten the veggies but on this blog post I will focus on the fruit.

The apples we love with salad and slices with peanut butter.

We also love orange segments with salad too. I love the aroma of the orange peel! Sliced, broken down in segments or juiced we love❀️

We enjoy tomatoes with salad, juiced and even ate whole. During January we are going to be eating more salads. Before Spring I am hoping to see the results of our healthy choices. On Fridays we always have pizza night. Friday night pizza will continue but with added veggies πŸ™‚.

Goal: More fruits, vegetables, added walking and increased water intake. Not to mention, cardio exercises.
